What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files saved on your computer that are used between your browser (Netscape, Internet Explorer, America Online, etc.) and a specific web server.

What are cookies used for?
For the purposes of eStoris Demo, a cookie is used to store information that is required to utilize the application to it's fullest. Your Shopping Cart contents and basic user information is stored in cookies.

Are cookies safe?
Cookies written by a specific web server can only be used by that specific web server. Additionally, they are generally accepted as the de facto way of storing basic information. Passwords and other vital information will never be stored in a cookie, for purposes of privacy and concurrency.

Enabling Cookies

To enable cookies, follow the instructions below for the browser version you are using.

Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.x

  • Select "Internet Options" from the Tools menu.
  • Click on the "Security" tab.
  • Click "Custom Level" button.
  • Scroll down to the "Cookies" section.
    To enable:
  • Set "Allow cookies that are stored on your computer" to "Enable".
  • Set "Allow per-session cookies" to "Enable".
  • Click "OK".
